Lead Carpenter
Lead Carpenters are responsible for the overall construction of interior and exterior projects assigned. Their job responsibilities include reading blueprints, understanding client requirements, leading support carpenters, assigning tasks, possess strong knowledge of and conduct residential maintenance, repair and remodel work.
Responsibilities
Support Project Managers in all day to day construction activities.
Beginning to end residential construction, including framing, remodeling existing construction, roofing and skylights, siding, door and window installation, insulation, drywall, flooring and tile, cabinetry, and precision trim installation
Perform as lead carpenter, managing a crew of up to four carpenters
Build additions/remodeling directly from blue-print designs
Utilize blueprints and complete projects with hand, power and air tools associated with carpentry.
General knowledge of masonry, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems
Responsible for managing materials, maximizing resources, and managing work flow.
Establish relationships and manage conflict resolution with all involved parties during projects to create an agreeable working environment.
Accustomed to extreme weather conditions, heavy lifting, and stamina challenging days.
Possess a enthusiastic, supportive and team oriented work ethic.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of full time, verifiable experience with a working knowledge of all facets of remodeling (residential and light commercial) and some portion of this experience in concrete flatwork and foundations. Lead Carpenters can expect work to be delegated to them by our Project Managers, but they are expected to not need direct supervision to accomplish their tasks. They need to perform layout and supervision when their Project Manager is not on site.
First Aid and CPR Certification.
Provide basic carpentry tools.
Dependable, presentable transportation
Valid driver’s license with an excellent record (record to be verified with our insurance carrier)
Strong knowledge of construction materials and terminology
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to fill out forms legibly
Computer experience: fluency with mainstream software.
Knowledge of safe lifting and carrying.
Adequate hearing, vision, physical ability and endurance to perform work assigned
Can perform physical exertion typically found on construction sites including, but not limited to, carrying, lifting, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling and hauling. able to lift 75 -125 pounds on a regular basis; regular lifting of 30-50 pounds over your head; occasionally lifting to 125 pounds over your head. You will be expected to work inside and outside, on even and uneven surfaces, on roofs and ladders, under structures, and in other physical situations.
