We think it was George Bernard Shaw who said "The problem with communication is the illusion it has occurred."
That little conundrum is something we pay really close attention to here at A1DesignBuild. Because, quite simply, good communication can make or break a project - and when there’s lots of money and peace of mind at stake, who wants to risk it?
That’s why the people who work at A1DesignBuild put such a heavy emphasis on making sure clear goals, schedules and budgets are communicated regularly. Not only do we have project managers like Thad McGowan who are on-site ready to give updates at a moment’s notice, but we also utilize technology like BuilderTrend that keeps everything trued.
“Thad was amazing to work with; he’s a great communicator, very straightforward and informative. The team did extra cleanup before they left every day and kept our space livable.”
An example of our process in action was on a project for Julie Creager and Jim Scarborough. They wanted to transform their 1920s Columbia-area cottage into a functional, modern home while preserving its historic charm. With thoughtful design choices like a new center island, a cozy bench seat with storage, and an updated kitchen and bathroom layout, they’ve now maximized every inch of their 900 sq. ft. space.
But the part they keep coming back to is the fact that the process itself was actually quite manageable. Expectations were clearly defined during the build process, schedules were adhered to, and most importantly, people showed up when they said they would show up. It’s a level of accountability and care that can often be missing from the construction process.
Today, Julie and Jim live in the space they were dreaming of. And the cherry on top?
